Porter Supervisor – Hospital Logistics

About the role

The Porter Supervisor is responsible for overseeing hospital portering services, ensuring efficient and safe transportation of patients, medical equipment, and essential items across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee safe patient transport within the hospital, ensuring dignity and proper handling.
• Supervise delivery of medical equipment, supplies, and hazardous materials following safety protocols.
• Coordinate emergency patient transfers and rapid supply movement during urgent situations.
• Manage waste and biohazard disposal, ensuring compliance with infection control regulations.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare efficiency reports, and assist in budgeting for portering services.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Business Administration, Leadership, Health Safety and Environment or a related field.
• 1‑5 years experience in hospital portering or logistics, with supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, patient transport procedures, infection control, and biohazard handling.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving, communication, and ability to work under pressure.

• Understanding of hospital transport and logistics management.
• Familiarity with patient handling, mobility support, and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to use transport tracking systems and scheduling tools.
