Phone Repair Technician – Lagos

About the role

The Phone Repair Technician ensures that returned or repossessed phones are restored to full functionality quickly and reliably. The role involves diagnosing technical issues, performing component‑level repairs, and carrying out quality‑control functions. You will handle both hardware and software problems, from replacing broken screens and batteries to troubleshooting operating‑system errors and connectivity issues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional tests, run diagnostic software/hardware checks, and triage damaged devices.
• Disassemble devices with precision tools, isolate faulty parts, and replace defective components using OEM‑approved parts.
• Re‑assemble devices following model‑specific SOPs, applying correct adhesives, gaskets, and shielding.
• Conduct full functional, cosmetic, and RF testing to verify post‑repair performance.
• Document test results, assign final grades, and flag recurring defects or workflow bottlenecks.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory in SAP, log consumption, and perform cycle counts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience repairing cell phones or similar electronic devices.
• Proven ability to work accurately with precision tools and follow detailed work instructions.
• High integrity, strong work ethic, and good team collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Precision tool usage (spudgers, screwdrivers, heat guns, suction tools).
• Diagnostic software/hardware testing and multimeter/continuity checks.
• Software flashing and RF testing experience.
• SAP inventory management for spare parts and finished goods.
• Component‑level testing and evaluation for reuse or scrap.
