Pharmacy Technician

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Pharmacy Technician to support our licensed pharmacist in daily pharmacy operations. The role involves handling prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing courteous service to customers in a fast‑paced retail or hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in receiving, processing, and dispensing prescriptions accurately.
• Prepare, label, and package medications under supervision.
• Verify prescription details and patient information for correctness.
• Provide basic medication information to customers and direct complex queries to the pharmacist.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical products and medical supplies.
• Monitor stock levels, report low‑stock items, and conduct inventory counts.
• Check expiry dates and remove expired or damaged products.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, and inventory transactions.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dispensing area and support quality‑assurance procedures.
• Assist with billing, invoicing, and payment processing when required.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician programme.
• Valid registration/licensing with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
• At least one year of experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or similar healthcare facility.
• Good knowledge of pharmaceutical products and pharmacy operations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Required skills

• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems.
