About the role
The PET Radiographer will join the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja, delivering advanced Positron Emission Tomography imaging for cancer, neurological and cardiovascular diagnostics. Working closely with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and the wider clinical team, the role ensures high‑quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain PET scanners, ensuring optimal performance and image quality.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in line with strict radiation‑safety protocols.
- Position patients for scans, monitor vital signs, and respond to any adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret scan results and contribute to treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to radiation‑safety handling, storage and disposal procedures.
- Participate in quality‑assurance and quality‑control activities to uphold imaging standards.
Required profile
- Strong commitment to patient‑centered care with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to follow strict radiation‑safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
