Patroller – Production Inspection & Maintenance

About the role

The Patroller ensures smooth operation and safety of all production shops by performing inspections, troubleshooting equipment, and coordinating maintenance activities. This role supports both planned shutdowns and day‑to‑day plant operations, aiming to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform equipment energy isolation following LOTOTO procedures.
• Conduct field checks and troubleshoot raw mill, kiln, and finish mill systems.
• Inspect equipment during running and shutdown periods, reporting defects to the CCRO.
• Write shift reports and complete inspection checklists.
• Execute first‑level maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Coordinate mobile plant operators and contracted services for material supply.
• Operate equipment in test mode during maintenance and assist the CCRO with key equipment.
• Manage off‑spec product handling and diaphragm slot cleaning.
• Load ball‑mill media per process engineer recommendations.
• Perform test drilling of refractory lining and report findings.
• Monitor air compressors and pneumatic conveyance systems.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and participate in safety toolbox meetings.

Required profile

• Experience with industrial plant equipment such as mills, kilns, and compressors.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and HBM Nigeria safety rules.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for equipment drift and blockages.
• Capability to work in a team and coordinate with contractors.
