Optometrist

About the role

The clinic is seeking a skilled, patient‑focused Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye examinations, perform preliminary assessments, and support the efficient operation of optical services. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, maintains accurate clinical records, and is committed to delivering quality eye care.

Key responsibilities

• Clerk patients and conduct preliminary eye assessments.
• Measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure, and perform objective and subjective refraction.
• Perform visual fields, optical coherence tomography, A‑scan biometry, and B‑scan ultrasonography.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and refer patients requiring ophthalmological review.
• Support the efficient running of the clinic and optical services.

Required profile

• Doctor of Optometry degree from a recognised university.
• Completed internship and NYSC, or an exemption certificate.
• Current ODORBN registration and practising licence.
• Preferably at least two years post‑internship experience; recent graduates may also be considered.
• Equipment training can be provided on site.
