Operations Analyst – Risk & Compliance (Remote)

About the role

Lenkie is seeking a detail‑oriented Operations Analyst to support fast, fair, and flexible lending decisions for UK SMEs. The role sits at the heart of lending operations, covering applicant pre‑screening, KYC/AML compliance, fraud prevention, and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rapid pre‑screening of UK SME loan applications, reviewing financial statements, credit histories, and Companies House filings.
• Uphold KYC and AML standards by screening for PEPs, sanctions, and identifying fraud or money‑laundering red flags.
• Verify supplier details and payment invoices to ensure secure transaction processing.
• Identify friction points in risk workflows and implement process improvements to boost efficiency as the loan book expands.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk, Operations, Sales, and Account Management to maintain consistent risk and compliance standards.
• Lead special projects that enhance systems and support broader team objectives.

Required profile

• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Analytical mindset with ability to assess and improve complex processes.
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot data inconsistencies.
• Effective communicator and team player, able to work autonomously.
• Motivation to take responsibility, drive projects, and improve processes.
• Interest in progressing into Compliance, Fraud, Quality Assurance, Credit or Data Analysis.
• Completed degree or equivalent professional qualification.
