About the role
UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a consultant to provide strategic and technical support for its nutrition programme. The role focuses on strengthening communication, advocacy, youth and community engagement, and knowledge management to improve nutrition outcomes across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication and advocacy strategies for the nutrition programme.
- Lead social mobilisation and youth engagement activities, including media outreach and stakeholder coordination.
- Produce high‑quality documentation, donor reports, case studies, success stories and multimedia content.
- Manage knowledge‑sharing platforms and ensure visibility of programme achievements.
- Coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives with government, UN agencies, civil society, media and youth networks.
- Support digital engagement through social‑media campaigns and innovative communication approaches.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Communication, Journalism, Social & Behaviour Change, Public Health, Development Studies or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in advocacy, communication, social mobilisation, community or youth engagement, media relations or knowledge management.
- Proven experience supporting large‑scale public‑health or nutrition programmes in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
- Demonstrated collaboration with UNICEF, UN agencies, governments, development partners and civil‑society organisations.
