About the role
The consultant will support UNICEF Nigeria’s nutrition programme by strengthening communication, advocacy, youth engagement, social mobilisation and knowledge management. Working from the Abuja office, the role collaborates closely with Nutrition, SBC, Communication, Advocacy, Partnerships and Field Office teams.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communication and advocacy plans for nutrition interventions.
- Lead youth and community engagement activities to promote behaviour change.
- Coordinate media outreach, visibility campaigns and donor recognition initiatives.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and partnership building across government, UN agencies and civil society.
- Manage knowledge products, documentation and learning dissemination for the programme.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Communication, Journalism, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in advocacy, communication, social mobilisation, SBC, youth engagement or knowledge management.
- Proven experience supporting large‑scale public health or nutrition programmes in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with UNICEF, UN agencies, governments, development partners and media.
