Nutrition Social Behaviour Change and Knowledge Management Consultant

About the role

The Nutrition Social Behaviour Change and Knowledge Management Consultant will work under the Nutrition Manager to provide strategic and technical support for UNICEF Nigeria’s nutrition programme. The role focuses on strengthening communication, advocacy, youth engagement, social mobilisation, media outreach and knowledge management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and advocacy strategies for nutrition interventions.
• Lead youth and community engagement activities to promote behaviour change.
• Coordinate social mobilisation, stakeholder and media engagement to increase programme visibility.
• Manage knowledge‑management processes, documentation and donor recognition activities.
• Collaborate with Child Nutrition, SBC, CAP, ADAP and field office teams to ensure integrated messaging.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s) in Communication, Journalism, SBC, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, Public Policy, Mass Communication or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in advocacy, communication, social mobilisation, youth engagement, media relations or knowledge management.
• Experience supporting large‑scale public health, nutrition, maternal and child health or adolescent programmes in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Proven collaboration with UNICEF, UN agencies, government, development partners, civil society, media or youth networks.
