Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Nutrition Officer will lead the daily implementation of nutrition‑sensitive and nutrition‑specific interventions in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory. This role supports technical assistance, capacity building, and the integration of nutrition activities within primary health care to improve the nutrition status of women of reproductive age, young children, and newborns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and track detailed nutrition implementation plans in collaboration with the M&E team.
• Monitor and supervise day‑to‑day nutrition activities, ensuring alignment with work plans and national protocols.
• Provide technical support for IMAM, MIYCN, micronutrient supplementation, and the establishment of OTP sites.
• Strengthen data quality, analysis, reporting, and utilization in partnership with the SI team.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities for health workers, Nutrition Focal Persons, and food‑system actors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food security, agriculture or related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum five years of experience in nutrition, food security, or livelihood programming.
• Proven experience implementing nutrition programs and working in a matrixed environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to apply monitoring and evaluation plans to assess activity results.
• Experience with data collection tools and reporting systems.
