NFE Project Officer

About the role

The NFE Project Officer will support the delivery of the Non‑Formal Education (NFE) portfolio in Nigeria, overseeing programmes such as Youth Connect. Working under British Council policies, the role combines financial administration, data collection and stakeholder coordination to ensure projects meet their objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and expenditure reporting, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
• Maintain vendor relationships, process payments and uphold British Council financial standards.
• Oversee programme operations, including data management, quality assurance, monitoring, analysis, reporting and grants administration.
• Coordinate procurement, events and training delivery while supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Build and sustain relationships with partners, vendors and suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of services.
• Promote an inclusive, anti‑racist culture and champion equality, diversity and inclusion best practices across programmes.

Required profile

• Experience in supporting programmes or projects, particularly in administrative and financial functions.
• Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
