About the role
The News Editor will lead the editorial process for daily news content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and engaging storytelling. Working closely with reporters, writers and graphic teams, you will shape the newsroom’s output and maintain high editorial standards.
Key responsibilities
- Edit and proofread news articles for grammar, style and factual accuracy.
- Review and verify stories before publication.
- Monitor breaking news, current affairs and emerging trends.
- Assign stories to writers and coordinate editorial workflows.
- Craft compelling headlines and ensure content is reader‑friendly.
- Uphold editorial and ethical standards across all published material.
- Collaborate with reporters, writers, graphic artists and other media teams.
- Manage the daily news publishing schedule.
- Identify trending topics and recommend relevant story ideas.
- Ensure all news content is thoroughly researched and fact‑checked.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar editorial role.
