News Caster (On‑Air Presenter)

About the role

The News Caster will deliver accurate and engaging news and current‑affairs content across multiple multimedia platforms, including on‑demand video, live streams and social media. You will uphold journalistic integrity while maintaining a professional on‑air presence.

Key responsibilities

• Present news bulletins, reports and current‑affairs programs clearly and concisely, following broadcast style guidelines.
• Deliver breaking news with appropriate urgency and adhere to editorial protocols.
• Interpret scripts, pronounce names and locations correctly, and condense complex information for the audience.
• Conduct live interviews and field reports, ensuring accuracy, impartiality and safety.
• Review scripts and verify facts before broadcast, flagging any inconsistencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English or a related field.
• 0–5 years of experience as a presenter, host, reporter or similar on‑air role.
• Formal training in broadcasting or performance arts is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian current affairs and journalistic ethics.

Required skills

• Proficient in operating a teleprompter and related broadcast equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret scripts accurately under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of social‑media platforms for news dissemination.
