Mold Room Technician

About the role

The Mold Room Technician will support the delivery of precise radiation therapy treatments at the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja. Working closely with radiation oncologists and therapists, you will prepare and maintain custom molds, casts and immobilisation devices that ensure accurate patient positioning during treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Create custom molds, casts and immobilisation devices using appropriate materials and techniques.
• Document fabrication processes and maintain inventory to minimise errors.
• Inspect molds for accuracy, conduct quality checks and keep quality control records.
• Follow radiation safety protocols, handle and store radioactive materials safely, and monitor exposure levels.
• Assist radiation therapists with patient positioning, ensure patient comfort and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to research projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a radiation oncology setting, including mold fabrication.
• Professional certification (e.g., OSHA) is an advantage.
