MICS Data Analysis Consultant – Child Well‑being & Urban Inequality (Remote)

About the role
UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to lead two thematic analyses of Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) data for Nigeria. The work focuses on longitudinal trends in child well‑being and on urban inequality, and will be delivered remotely over a nine‑month period.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive longitudinal and trend analysis of MICS3‑MICS7 datasets, focusing on child survival and learning indicators.
- Develop and validate methodology and conceptual frameworks in consultation with UNICEF and national partners.
- Prepare three reporting products for the longitudinal analysis: a PowerPoint summary, a technical report, and a brief.
- Perform an urban and inequality analysis for four selected urban areas, examining intra‑urban disparities.
- Deliver virtual workshops to build partner capacity on both analyses.
- Produce a detailed analytical report on urban inequalities and contribute evidence‑based policy recommendations.
Required profile
- Proven experience in analyzing large‑scale household survey data, preferably MICS.
- Strong understanding of child well‑being indicators and urban inequality metrics.
- Ability to design methodological approaches and conceptual frameworks.
- Experience delivering virtual training or capacity‑building sessions.
