Medical Laboratory Technician – Lagos

About the role

Medical Laboratory Technicians at EHA Clinics perform phlebotomy on adults and children, operate a range of laboratory equipment, and ensure accurate specimen handling and documentation. The role supports the laboratory team in delivering high‑quality diagnostic services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on adults and children.
• Operate and manage automatic hematology and chemistry analyzers, pipettes, thermometers, balances and other lab apparatus.
• Label, sort, record specimens and enter data into the Lab Information Management System.
• Maintain laboratory checklists, inventory and quality control procedures.
• Communicate abnormal results to supervisory staff, physicians, nurses and patients.
• Document patient and family education and develop teaching plans.

Required profile

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution.
• Current registration and practising licence, and certification from the Association of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN).
• 1–4 years of experience in a medical laboratory, hospital or clinic.

Required skills

• Operation of automatic hematology analyzers.
• Operation of chemistry analyzers.
• Use of a Lab Information Management System (LIMS) for specimen tracking and reporting.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Laboratory inventory management.
