Medical Laboratory Scientist – Lagos

About the role

EHA Clinics is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its Lagos laboratory team. The role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic tests, ensuring high‑quality results, and supporting patient care through accurate laboratory services.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyze body fluids, tissue and other specimens, matching computer orders with proper labeling.
• Perform molecular diagnostics (PCR), hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology and infectious disease testing, including COVID‑19.
• Identify and communicate abnormal results to supervisory staff, physicians and patients.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, perform routine calibration and troubleshooting.
• Run quality controls, standards and equipment maintenance to ensure reliable results.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical laboratory, clinic or hospital.
• Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Science from an accredited university.
• Certification from the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) and a current practicing license.
• Additional training in molecular diagnostic techniques such as PCR.

Required skills

• Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and other molecular diagnostic methods.
• Hematology, chemistry, immunology and microbiology testing.
• Operation and maintenance of laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Quality control procedures and equipment calibration.
