Mechanical Technician – Fitter (Plant Maintenance)

About the role

The Mechanical Technician – Fitter will support operational efficiency at the flour mill by maintaining, repairing, installing and servicing plant equipment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance of packing machines, conveyors and related machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on assigned machines, including packing machines, carousels, conveyors and elevators.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.
• Support installation, fabrication and modification activities for production equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance, record maintenance activities and ensure compliance with HSE and Food Safety System Certification standards.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• 5 O‑Level credits including Mathematics and English, or equivalent NABTEB/City & Guilds qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Installation, fabrication and modification of plant machinery.
