Massage Therapist - Luxury Wellness Spa

About the role

A premium hospitality wellness centre in Maitama, Abuja is looking for a client-focused Massage Therapist to deliver therapeutic and recovery massage treatments. The role reports to the Head of Wellness & Clinical Services and offers a net monthly salary of N300,000. Candidates must live in Abuja or be willing to relocate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Swedish, deep tissue, sports, relaxation and recovery massage and other therapeutic body treatments
• Take detailed client consultations covering medical history, lifestyle, contraindications and treatment goals, and recommend treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, wellness coaches and trainers on rehabilitation programmes
• Monitor client responses, adjust techniques, and educate clients on post-treatment care, stretching and hydration
• Maintain treatment records, consultation notes and client progress files
• Keep treatment rooms clean and safe, prepare rooms and supplies, and monitor inventory of oils, linens and consumables
• Follow infection prevention protocols, workplace health and safety rules and professional ethics
• Build relationships with members, promote wellness services and take part in wellness events and promotions
• Stay up to date with massage techniques and wellness trends through continuous professional development

Required profile

• Diploma, advanced diploma or bachelor's degree in massage therapy, complementary health, physiotherapy, sports therapy or a related field
• Certified massage therapist from a recognised professional institution
• 3-5 years of experience in a luxury spa, five-star hotel, wellness centre, rehabilitation clinic or similar setting
• Expertise in Swedish, deep tissue, sports and recovery massage
• Additional certifications such as myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, reflexology, aromatherapy or hot stone therapy are an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics and contraindications
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, professional appearance and discretion with high-profile clients
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling, electronic client records and Microsoft Office
• Flexible hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays
