Marine Support Officer

About the role

The Marine Support Officer acts as the primary liaison between clients, naval personnel, vessel crews and the company during escort vessel operations. Based in Port Harcourt, you will ensure smooth coordination, safety compliance and welfare of all parties involved.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact with clients while escort vessels are at sea.
• Verify completion of pre‑departure checklists and conduct post‑arrival inspections.
• Receive and look after naval personnel onboard, ensuring their welfare throughout the task.
• Maintain accurate records of escort operations and report performance, incidents and compliance issues to the Operations Officer.
• Monitor vessel compliance with safety regulations, environmental restrictions and operational guidelines.
• Stop unsafe work, report unsafe acts, near‑misses and accidents, and support safety management system improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum OND in a related field.
• At least two years of experience in marine operations, vessel coordination, maritime security support or offshore logistics (preferred).
• Strong understanding of HSE procedures, safety compliance and vessel operations.
• Proactive, disciplined, safety‑conscious with excellent communication and coordination abilities.
