Managing Director – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

The Managing Director will lead the insurance brokerage’s overall strategy, financial performance and operational excellence. Reporting to the Board, the role translates strategic direction into sustainable growth, profitability and long‑term value for local and multinational clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of the Board‑approved strategy, develop annual plans, budgets and drive business transformation and digital initiatives.
• Drive business development, acquire complex corporate insurance programmes and expand the portfolio of corporate and multinational clients.
• Oversee insurance placement, claims advocacy, client servicing and continuous process improvement, with a focus on Oil & Gas and Special Risks.
• Deliver revenue, profitability and cash‑flow targets while ensuring enterprise risk management, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Provide regular strategic, financial and operational reports to the Board and represent the company with regulators, insurers and industry bodies.
• Build a high‑performance culture, develop leadership capability, succession plans and drive employee engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline); MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as CIIN is mandatory.
• Minimum 18 years progressive experience in insurance broking, general insurance or risk advisory, including at least 5 years in executive leadership.
• Proven track record of leading a profitable brokerage with expertise in Oil & Gas and Special Risks (energy, construction, marine, aviation, liability).
• Established relationships with insurers, major corporate organisations and key industry decision‑makers.
