Legal & Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Officer to provide legal advice and support across corporate matters, business transactions and day‑to‑day operations. The role will ensure that the company complies with Nigerian laws, regulations and industry standards while mitigating legal risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate matters, business transactions and operational activities.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
• Monitor compliance with applicable Nigerian laws, regulations and industry requirements.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Maintain corporate records, legal documentation and compliance registers.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, external legal advisers and other stakeholders.
• Support corporate governance processes and ensure adherence to internal policies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare reports on legislative and regulatory developments.
• Assist with statutory filings, renewals, permits and other regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) and qualification to practise law in Nigeria (BL).
• 1–5 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance or regulatory affairs.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws, regulatory requirements and corporate compliance practices.
• Ability to review contracts, prepare legal documents and maintain compliance records.
• Excellent research, analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and professionalism.
