Legal Associate (Litigation & Corporate)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing law firm in Lekki, Lagos, is looking for a proactive Legal Associate to deliver commercial‑focused legal advice, manage litigation matters and support corporate transactions. The role requires strong advocacy, analytical and drafting abilities while handling multiple client matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate legal advice across corporate, commercial and dispute‑resolution matters.
• Represent clients in courts, arbitration, mediation and other ADR forums, preparing pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, shareholders’ agreements, service agreements and employment contracts.
• Conduct legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and investments.
• Perform comprehensive legal research and produce opinions, memoranda and advisory notes.
• Advise clients on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and corporate governance.
• Manage case files, monitor litigation timelines and ensure compliance with court and regulatory deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized university and B.L. qualification from the Nigerian Law School.
• Called to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
• 2–4 years post‑call experience in a reputable law firm, with exposure to litigation, corporate and commercial law.
• Experience handling matters before superior courts of record is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with legal research tools.
