About the role

The assignment supports the establishment of a sustainable dairy cattle breeding centre in Nigeria by developing technically feasible and financially viable investment and partnership models. The contract runs from September 2026 to March 2027 under the EU‑VACE TARED programme, co‑financed by the European Union and implemented by GIZ.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the dairy genetics market and demand for improved breeding services.
• Design a phased model for breeding stock, semen, artificial insemination and embryo services.
• Develop governance, ownership and financing structures suitable for the project.
• Identify and engage technical partners, investors, processors and research institutions.
• Prepare an implementation roadmap covering investment, partnerships, risk management and long‑term sustainability.

Required profile

• MSc in finance, agricultural economics, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in livestock or agricultural sector investments.
• At least 6 years in three of the following areas: PPP structuring, blended‑finance design, financial modelling for agricultural infrastructure, guarantee and risk‑sharing facility design, or engagement with development finance institutions and impact investors.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in Sub‑Saharan Africa or similar geographies.
• C2 level proficiency in English.
