Junior Risk Consultant – Risk Officer

About the role

The Junior Risk Consultant supports the delivery of enterprise risk management, internal control, governance, compliance, and business continuity consulting engagements. The role involves assisting with risk assessments, internal control reviews, regulatory compliance evaluations, data analysis, report preparation, and the development of practical risk management solutions that help clients achieve their strategic and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Enterprise Risk Management – support implementation of ERM frameworks, develop and maintain risk registers and profiles, facilitate risk identification workshops, monitor emerging risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Risk Assessment and Analysis – conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, evaluate likelihood and impact, analyze business processes for control gaps, prepare risk heat maps, dashboards and analytical reports, and perform root‑cause analyses of key risk events.
• Project Delivery – support planning and execution of consulting engagements, collect, validate and analyse project data, prepare work papers, reports and documentation, track milestones and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Insurance, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, with NYSC completed; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience, including senior‑leadership exposure, and having successfully delivered at least four end‑to‑end risk management consulting projects.
