Junior Accountant

About the role

The Prosperis Associates Limited is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Lagos, Marina. This entry‑level position offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in accounting within the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily sales, vendor invoices, inventory purchases and operational expenses in the accounting software.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, track debtor and creditor schedules and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are reported and resolved.
• Assist with inventory tracking, fixed‑asset register maintenance and monthly depreciation calculations.
• Support statutory compliance by preparing schedules for VAT, WWT and PAYE in line with Nigerian tax regulations.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail, FMCG or distribution.
• Student membership or progression toward ICAN or ACCA qualification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or SAP.
