Janitor / Cleaner

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean and safe environment in our healthcare facility in Abuja. The role involves daily cleaning, disinfection and waste handling to support infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices and common areas following clinic protocols.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors; empty trash and replace liners.
• Disinfect high‑touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, chairs and countertops.
• Restock supplies including soap, paper towels and hand sanitizer.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazard and medical waste in compliance with regulations.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards or supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, store chemicals properly and perform periodic deep‑cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of cleaning or janitorial experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures and willingness to follow infection‑control guidelines.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and reliability.
