IT Support Officer

About the role

We are seeking an IT Support Officer to deliver first‑level technical assistance to our staff in Port Harcourt. The role involves installing, configuring and maintaining computers, printers, operating systems and other office equipment while ensuring reliable network and system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers, operating systems and office equipment.
• Set up new employees with laptops, desktops, software, email accounts and required tools.
• Manage user accounts, passwords and access permissions.
• Perform routine software updates, system maintenance and data backups.
• Monitor network connectivity and internet performance.
• Implement basic cybersecurity measures to protect company systems and data.
• Respond promptly to technical issues to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, maintenance schedules and support activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc. or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of experience in IT support or a related role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
