About the role
We are looking for an IT Officer to provide day‑to‑day technical support to staff, resolve hardware, software, network and system issues, and ensure smooth operation of our IT environment. The role involves installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting computers, printers, scanners, internet devices and other IT equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day technical support to staff and resolve hardware, software, network, and system‑related issues.
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, scanners, internet devices and other IT equipment.
- Manage and maintain the organisation’s computer systems, networks, servers and other IT infrastructure.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, access rights, passwords and system permissions.
- Monitor network connectivity, internet performance and IT systems to ensure optimal availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, upgrades and troubleshooting of IT equipment and software.
- Implement and maintain data backup procedures and support IT security measures including antivirus protection and access controls.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of IT equipment, software licences and technology assets and ensure proper documentation of configurations, incidents and resolutions.
Required profile
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time‑management capabilities.
- Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non‑technical users.
- Ability to work independently and respond promptly to IT incidents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic system administration.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with IT security, antivirus systems, data protection and backup procedures.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain computers and other IT equipment.
- Good understanding of email systems, cloud‑based applications and user account management.
