IT Officer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive IT Officer to join our team in Port Harcourt. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software and network services across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network and system problems.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT equipment.
• Set up user and email accounts, manage access permissions and maintain service tickets.
• Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, internet connectivity and Wi‑Fi infrastructure.
• Apply operating system updates, software patches and security updates.
• Perform regular backups, assist with disaster‑recovery planning and monitor server performance.
• Implement cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls and endpoint protection.
• Maintain inventory of hardware, software licences and technology assets.
• Liaise with ISPs, vendors and external service providers.
• Document IT systems, network configurations and produce performance reports.

Required profile

• HND in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT support, systems or network administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
• Experience with network devices, TCP/IP, routers and switches.
• Basic understanding of server administration, cloud services and virtualization.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, antivirus and firewall management.
