Inventory Officer

About the role

The Inventory Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring proper storage and handling, and supporting the supply chain team in Port Harcourt.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record all inventory movements, updating the inventory management system promptly.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records.
• Identify and report damaged, expired, slow‑moving or obsolete items.
• Issue materials to authorized departments based on approved requests.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports and assist with audits.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and support resolution of stock‑related issues.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Finance and Operations teams.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in inventory management, stock control or warehousing.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
• Good knowledge of FIFO/FEFO inventory principles (advantage).
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
