Inventory Officer – FMCG Stock Management

About the role
At Najec FMCG, a leading distributor of fast‑moving consumer goods in Nigeria, we are seeking a detail‑oriented Inventory Officer. You will be the custodian of company stock, responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring strong stock control.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of stock received, issued, transferred and available.
- Conduct and coordinate regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records.
- Monitor damaged, expired, missing and slow‑moving stock, flagging potential shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure all stock movements are authorised and properly documented.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Warehouse and Finance on stock requirements and discrepancies.
- Prepare timely inventory reports, including the monthly report by the 3rd working day.
- Support periodic and surprise stock counts and audits, escalating any losses or discrepancies.
Required profile
- OND, HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field with 2‑3 years’ experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably in FMCG.
- High level of integrity, honesty, disciplined work ethic and ability to work independently under strict internal controls.
Required skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with inventory or ERP systems.
