Inventory Manager – Fulfillment Center

About the role

Jumia is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead inventory operations at its fulfillment centre. The role ensures stock accuracy, availability and cost‑efficiency while coordinating with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, storing, counting and tracking of inventory to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimise shrinkage and reduce carrying costs.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories and reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and applying corrective actions.
• Utilise inventory management systems (IMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to monitor movements, generate KPI reports and support decision‑making.
• Coordinate inbound shipments with vendors, resolve receiving issues and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Lead and train a team of inventory associates, enforcing safety and policy compliance.
• Optimise warehouse layout and picking processes to maximise space utilisation and efficiency.
• Analyse inventory data to identify improvement opportunities and present performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations or supply chain with demonstrated leadership.
• Strong knowledge of inventory principles, control procedures and fast‑paced distribution environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities to interpret data and drive optimisation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across all organisational levels.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for variable shifts.
