Information Technology (IT) Officer

About the role

The client, a reputable financial institution, is looking for a technically competent and service‑oriented IT Officer to support its technology infrastructure, systems, users, and digital banking operations. The role involves first‑level technical support, hardware and software maintenance, network management, and administration of the BankOne Core Banking Application.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level technical support to staff across the head office and branches, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Support the BankOne Core Banking Application, handling user access, functionality issues, performance monitoring and coordination with vendors.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers, network devices and monitor LAN/WAN connectivity.
• Manage user accounts and access rights in line with security policies, including password management and access de‑provisioning.
• Monitor security threats, enforce endpoint protection, and promote cybersecurity awareness.
• Perform routine data backup, verify integrity, and support disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Assist with digital banking channels, escalating critical incidents promptly.
• Liaise with approved vendors, track service delivery and maintain records of technical interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a micro‑finance bank, commercial bank or fintech.
• Mandatory hands‑on experience with the BankOne Core Banking Application.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft certifications are an advantage.
