Hotel Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a highly competent and detail‑oriented Hotel Accountant to manage the financial operations and controls of a hospitality property. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, effective revenue and expense controls, timely reporting, proper cash management and strong financial discipline across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Financial Management: maintain accurate records, reconcile transactions, prepare reports, monitor income and expenses.
• Revenue Control: monitor daily room and other revenue, reconcile cash and online payments, verify rates and adjustments, prevent leakage.
• Expense & Cost Control: monitor operating expenses against budgets, review invoices, control purchases and supplier payments.
• Cash & Banking: oversee daily cash collections, perform bank reconciliations, maintain cash‑handling procedures.
• Payroll & Staff Costs: support payroll preparation, verify attendance and deductions, maintain payroll records.
• Inventory & Procurement Controls: monitor stock and consumables, support inventory reconciliation, oversee purchasing documentation.
• Reporting & Management Support: prepare management reports, provide financial analysis, support budgeting and forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Experience as a Hotel Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of hotel revenue and expense controls.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) advantageous.
