Home Tutor for JSS 1 in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

About the role

The client is seeking a home tutor to provide general mathematics and English language lessons for a male JSS 1 student in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The role focuses on improving the student’s academic performance and motivation using the Nigerian curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two hours of mathematics and English lessons each day, Thursday to Saturday at 4:00 PM.
• Follow the Nigerian secondary school curriculum and prepare appropriate teaching materials.
• Assess the student’s progress regularly and adjust teaching methods as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback to the student and maintain open communication with the parent.
• Encourage a positive learning attitude and motivate the student to achieve better results.

Required profile

• Experience teaching JSS 1 or equivalent secondary school level.
• Reliable, patient, and able to work independently at the client’s home.
• Flexible to work the specified days and times.
• Willingness to engage with the student’s learning needs and goals.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
• Ability to teach general mathematics concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in teaching English language fundamentals.
