Hematologist (Oncology) – Full-Time – Lekki, Lagos

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hematologist (Oncology) to join a leading oncology healthcare provider in Lekki, Lagos. The role involves diagnosing, treating and managing patients with benign and malignant hematological disorders, including blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage hematological disorders and blood cancers, developing individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, bone marrow biopsies, blood smears and molecular diagnostic results, and monitor treatment response.
• Manage hematological emergencies, treatment‑related complications and provide transfusion support.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and nursing teams.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols and regulatory standards, and contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS (or equivalent) with a Fellowship in Hematology from NPMCN or WACP.
• Current practicing licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑fellowship experience managing hematological malignancies in an oncology or tertiary setting.
• Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy protocols is highly desirable.
