Head of Travels and Protocol

About the role

The Head of Travels and Protocol will lead land‑transport operations for SPIE Services Nigeria Limited, ensuring safe and efficient movement of personnel, goods and equipment across the country while maintaining strict compliance with HSE policies and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and oversee land transportation services for company personnel and goods in Nigeria.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with the Company LTMS, HSE Driving Policy and related action plans.
• Conduct regular HSE meetings, safety campaigns and audits to promote a strong safety culture.
• Lead incident analysis and root‑cause investigations for road transport incidents, maintaining detailed records and corrective actions.
• Manage the daily operations of over 391 drivers, including scheduling, training, leave management and industrial relations.
• Oversee the use of online vehicle request, journey‑management feedback and fleet‑management tools.
• Supervise the installation, maintenance and reporting of IVMS and DIMS systems.
• Prepare activity reports on land transport and advise the Travels Manager on operational matters.
• Manage fuel dump, fuel cards, off‑loading, storage and distribution of AGO and PMS for all company vehicles.
• Validate repair estimates, approve vehicle repairs and monitor lease contracts for vendor compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large‑scale land transport or fleet operations.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and ability to enforce safety policies.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and coordinate a large driver workforce.
• Experience with fuel management, vehicle maintenance and lease contract oversight.
• Excellent analytical skills for incident investigation and reporting.
