Head of Procurement

About the role

The Head of Procurement will lead Karmod Nigeria’s procurement function, shaping strategy and ensuring the timely, cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services. Reporting to senior management, the role combines strategic sourcing, vendor management and compliance to support operational efficiency across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Oversee sourcing, negotiation and purchasing of goods, materials and services.
• Manage supplier relationships, including evaluation, selection and performance monitoring.
• Ensure cost optimisation while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
• Review and approve purchase requests, orders and contracts.
• Monitor procurement budgets and expenditure.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead, train and supervise the procurement team and present reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or CIPSMN is an advantage.
• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain management with leadership responsibility.
• Strong negotiation, communication and vendor‑management capabilities.
• Good understanding of contract management and sourcing best practices.
• Analytical, organisational and decision‑making skills.

• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools.
