Head of Printing Production (Department Lead)

About the role

The Printing Production Head of Department (HOD) is a full‑time, on‑site position in Lagos, responsible for overseeing the entire printing production workflow from job intake to final delivery. The role ensures that all print jobs meet quality standards, deadlines, and cost targets while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily production schedules and coordinate printing, pre‑press, and bindery operations.
• Supervise and support production staff, allocate resources, and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance, enforce safety and maintenance procedures, and implement workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with design, sales, and management teams to meet client requirements and optimise costs.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and people‑management experience in a busy print production environment.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Pre‑press and print design expertise, including file preparation, colour management and layout review.
• Hands‑on bindery and finishing skills such as cutting, folding, stitching and packaging.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards, equipment maintenance routines and production tracking tools.
