Head of Human Resources

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for Whip‑Smart Service Providers Limited, a fast‑growing retailer in Lagos. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape talent strategy, drive performance excellence and foster a high‑engagement culture across stores, service centres and corporate offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end talent acquisition and workforce planning for retail, warehouse and corporate teams, building pipelines for critical and high‑volume roles.
• Oversee performance management, goal setting, reviews and succession planning to develop leadership capability.
• Design and implement employee engagement programmes that boost morale, productivity and retention.
• Manage core HR operations including payroll, benefits, HRIS data, and ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws.
• Handle employee relations matters, grievance investigations and disciplinary processes with fairness and confidentiality.
• Review compensation structures and reward programmes to remain competitive.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of progressive HR experience, preferably in retail, fashion or FMCG.
• Proven ability to lead a full HR function and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
