About the role

The Hausa News Caster will deliver accurate, engaging and culturally appropriate news and current‑affairs content in Hausa across multiple multimedia platforms. The role supports the company’s mission to provide on‑demand, need‑based content for the Hausa‑speaking audience while upholding journalistic integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Present Hausa news bulletins, reports and current‑affairs programmes across video, broadcast and social‑media platforms.
• Deliver breaking news in Hausa with appropriate urgency, following established protocols.
• Conduct live interviews and field reports in fluent Hausa, maintaining impartiality and accuracy.
• Review and verify Hausa news scripts for factual accuracy and editorial compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English or a related field.
• 0‑3 years experience as a news anchor or presenter delivering news in Hausa.
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, Nigerian current affairs and media law in the Hausa context.

Required skills

• Fluent spoken and written Hausa.
• Teleprompter operation and basic broadcast equipment handling.
• Proficiency with social‑media platforms for news dissemination.
