Guidance & Counsellor

About the role

The Guidance & Counsellor will provide individual and group counseling to teenagers, supporting their academic, emotional, social and behavioural development. You will work closely with students, parents, teachers and administrators to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one and group counseling sessions addressing academic, career and personal development.
• Assess student needs, design intervention plans and monitor progress.
• Identify and support students facing emotional, behavioural or mental‑health challenges, providing referrals when needed.
• Develop and deliver workshops on self‑esteem, leadership, study skills, career planning, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers and school leaders to promote student well‑being.
• Maintain confidential records and prepare required counseling reports.
• Stay updated on best practices, safeguarding policies and emerging trends in adolescent mental health.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum three years of counseling experience with teenagers or young adults.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognized counseling body is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of adolescent psychology, child development and mental‑health support.
• Excellent communication, active listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Experience in youth development, mentoring or life‑skills programs is desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
