Graphic Designer – Educational Publishing

About the role

We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer to join our publishing team and produce engaging visual content for textbooks, storybooks and other educational materials. You will work closely with editors and authors to bring educational concepts to life through illustrations and layout design.

Key responsibilities

• Create original illustrations for textbooks, workbooks, storybooks and children’s books.
• Develop characters, scenes, diagrams, icons and other visual elements based on project briefs.
• Design book covers, page layouts, flyers, brochures, posters, banners and promotional materials.
• Produce graphics for social media, websites and digital publications.
• Collaborate with editors, authors and content developers to interpret creative briefs.
• Modify and refine illustrations according to feedback.
• Prepare artwork and design files for print and digital production, reviewing proofs and making corrections.
• Maintain consistency in typography, colour, imagery and overall visual presentation.
• Organise design files and project archives, and meet production deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree, HND or OND in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Creative Arts, Multimedia Design or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in graphic design, illustration or publishing.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration and graphic design ability.
• Experience designing educational materials or children’s books is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CorelDRAW.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
