General Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

Hotel Medallion in Lagos is looking for an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of hotel operations. The role combines strategic business growth with day‑to‑day management to ensure exceptional guest experiences and strong financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all hotel departments – rooms, front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, sales, security and maintenance – ensuring standards and efficiency.
• Develop and execute revenue‑generation strategies to increase occupancy, ADR and overall RevPAR, while cultivating corporate and event business.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, procurement and financial reporting, taking corrective actions to protect profitability.
• Maintain high guest‑service standards, handle escalated complaints and drive continuous improvement based on feedback.
• Recruit, train and motivate the management team and staff, establishing performance metrics and fostering a service‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hotel/hospitality experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management or General Manager role.
• Proven track record of running a full‑service hotel, driving revenue and controlling costs.
• Strong understanding of rooms division, food & beverage, sales, guest relations and financial management.
• Experience leading large teams and building commercial partnerships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel management/PMS systems.
• Experience using standard hospitality reporting tools.
