Fluids Engineer – Drilling Mud & Completion Fluids

About the role

Nestoil Plc is seeking an experienced Fluids Engineer to join its Scorpio Drilling unit in Warri, Delta. The role focuses on the design, testing, and optimisation of drilling mud and completion fluid systems for oil and gas operations, ensuring wellbore stability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain drilling and completion fluid systems on rigs.
• Monitor and adjust mud weight, viscosity, and chemical properties to control downhole pressures.
• Conduct daily fluid checks for density, viscosity, gel strength, salinity, and solids control.
• Maintain Equivalent Circulating Density (ECD) to prevent kicks or lost circulation.
• Prepare daily mud reports and comprehensive end‑of‑well summaries.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations for chemical handling and waste management.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of fluid engineering experience in oil and gas.
• IWCF Level 3 or Level 4 certification.
• BOSIET and HUET certifications.
• H2S safety certification.

Required skills

• Design of drilling mud and completion fluids.
• Fluid property monitoring and adjustment.
• Knowledge of ECD management.
• Environmental and safety compliance for fluid operations.
