First Mile Hub Manager (Full Time)

About the role

The First Mile Hub Manager oversees end‑to‑end operations of a First Mile hub at Jumia, managing the agent workforce, pickup and package processing, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements while driving efficiency and service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day hub operations, including agent scheduling, workload distribution and package processing.
• Lead training, onboarding and integration of new officers and agents.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, escalating and resolving gaps promptly.
• Manage hub teams and logistics equipment, maintaining optimal utilization and upkeep.
• Oversee package search, tracking and resolution of misrouted or delayed items.
• Coordinate shipping and delivery of packages to logistics partners for timely handovers.
• Implement and monitor new projects and process changes, adapting quickly to business needs.
• Monitor hub performance against metrics (pickup volumes, TAT, SLA adherence) and take corrective action.
• Lead, coach and performance‑manage hub team leads and agents.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and pickup partners.
• Prepare and present regular reports on hub performance, incidents and operational issues to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; logistics or supply‑chain training a plus.
• Proven experience in hub management, logistics or first‑mile operations, including team supervision.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant logistics/tracking systems.
• Strong affinity for information systems and comfort with operational tracking tools.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and diplomacy skills.
• Experience leading cross‑functional projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to resolve operational issues and escalations.
• Must have NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
