Financial Institutions Analyst – Credit & Risk Research

About the role

Our client, a multinational financial institution, is hiring an Analyst focused on Financial Institutions reporting, based in Lagos. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge in credit and risk assessment, with strong experience analysing financial institutions, insurance, and non‑bank financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write in‑depth, high‑quality research on credit trends and thought‑leading reports covering financial institutions, insurance, and non‑bank financial institutions.
• Become a recognised authority on a portfolio of rated financial institutions, insurance, and non‑bank financial institutions.
• Analyse and interpret financial statements accurately.
• Maintain a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Required profile

• Strong academic background equivalent to a BSc in a relevant field and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA are highly beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Deep understanding of Nigeria’s financial services sector, its regulatory environment, and key industry drivers.
• Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical abilities.
• Ability to produce timely, effective research on topical issues.
• Capacity to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
