Finance Officer

About the role

BigBack Haulage is seeking a Finance Officer to join its growing finance team in Lagos. This full‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site work in Ikeja with the flexibility to work from home on certain days. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s budgeting and cash‑flow processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements on a daily basis.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
• Track expenses and revenues by route and client, producing regular management reports.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, and leadership teams to answer financial inquiries and present performance insights.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing, analysing, and reconciling financial statements.
• Advanced analytical ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Professional communication skills for internal collaboration and presentation.
• Relevant academic qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; certifications such as ACA or ACCA are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
